Dr. Rutrick graduated New Jersey College of Medicine & Dentistry in 1969 with honors. He received his Master of Science in Dentistry in Orthodontics from Boston University in 1971. From 1971-73 he practiced Orthodontics and Facial Orthopedics in the United States Air Force. In 1973, he began private practice in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1978 he was named Dental Director of the Oro-Facial Deformaties Clinic at Scottish Rite Hospital. Between 1979 and 1984 he was appointed Attending Orthodontist for Plastic Surgery, Children's Medical Service, Department of Human Resources, State of Georgia. He currently holds consulting positions with The Craniofacial Disorders Center, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and other healthcare networks.

As a pioneer in Craniofacial Orthopedics and Distraction Osteogenesis, he was involved in the initial work of the first applications of these new treatment modalities(?) of the human craniofacial skeleton. His clinical focus has been the management of cleft lip and palate patients, TMJ Disorder patients, and of course, Orthodontics to develop beautiful smiles with optimal jaw function.

He has spoken nationally and internationally on cleft management, distraction osteogenesis, and the management of cases requiring the combination and coordination of dentistry and surgery. Dr. Rutrick draws upon 30 plus years of clinical experience and continues study and collaboration with noted experts in their respected fields.
